Rural Influencing & Strategic Development
Tees Valley Rural Community Council (TVRCC) has a role in rural influencing and strategic development across the Tees Valley. This work is funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) through a contract managed by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) and sees TVRCC involved with many external organisations such as Local Strategic Partnerships.
TVRCC is now represented on most Local Strategic Partnerships either as a full Board member, area representative or observer. TVRCC is also represented on several thematic sub and advisory groups such as Regeneration and Stronger Communities Partnerships.
Membership of these groups helps TVRCC to provide a comprehensive representation of the rural communities in the Tees Valley area. At present many of these structures are undergoing a review and TVRCC is providing rural responses during this consultation period.
Within this role TVRCC undertakes 'rural proofing' of strategies and policy documents and responds to consultation documents, giving views from a rural perspective.
