Old Co-op Building
Tees Valley Rural Community Council has been involved in running this project since mid 2009.
The aim of the project is to re-establish the Old Co-op Building in Loftus as a vibrant community hub for the local community. Since undertaking the day to day running of the Old Co-op we have worked to develop and establish many new opportunities for the Loftus area by providing training courses, meeting facilities, a community cafe, and rentable office space for tenants.
The building has undergone a massive refurbishment recently, making it into a much more manageable and accessible venue, mainly through funding from Government Office North East and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.
The centre is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and managed by Tony Gatehouse, the Buildings Manager, with support from a small team of 4.
